Float Zone (FZ)
Float zone crystal growth was one of the first ingot growing processes developed during the early 1960’s.
Float zone wafers typically have very high resistivity readings and very low oxygen concentration that yield very
pure crystal. Float zone wafers are not as widely used today as they once were, but are still used for some
special needs. Float zone crystal growing cannot produce the large diameters capable with the CZ process. The
CZ process is also more economical and takes less time than the float zone process does. If you have any
